ANC leaders dismiss Cleophas Malala's call to dissolve party and join UDA
Addressing the media in Vihiga , ANC party leader Issa Timamy, SG Beatrice Adagala and MP Omboko Milemba said they will remain an independent party, and will soon conduct grassroots registration of its members.
“We are not going to fold our party. If anything, we are planning to rejuvenate and strengthen our party from grassroots levels. ANC will remain vibrant,” Timamy said.
Similar sentiments were echoed by ANC Party SG Beatrice Adagala who dismissed reports of folding the Party.
“We have rolled out recruitment in the whole country. We are ready, we are in Kenya Kwanza, fully supporting President Ruto and we know our plan is to see Kenyans live a dignified life,” Adagala added.
The party’s declaration comes after a decree from Malala, who said parties under the Kenya Kwanza alliance – including ANC, FORD-Kenya, Maendeleo Chap Chap, and PAA should be folded top join UDA.
Malala called on Speaker Moses Wetangula (FORD-Kenya) and Amos Kingi (PAA) to resign from their party positions to give room for their dissolution.
