Al Shabaab defector killed in Kwale

An Al Shabaab defector, Subira Sudi Mangole, has been shot dead while two other people are nursing gunshot wounds in Kwale County.

Sudi, who had surrendered to the Kenyan government in February 2015 after heeding to the government call for amnesty of radicalized youth, was shot dead at his brother’s house.

Msambweni OCPD Joseph Omijah said that Subira Sudi was watching news at around 7pm when the armed Al Shabaab militia stormed the house by force.

The assailants faced resistance from people inside the house, and as a result of the confrontation the killers shot two others in the company of Sudi before they shot him twice in the head.

The Killers are said to have used a motorbike that Sudi had been issued by the government to escape the scene of the crime.

Hundreds of youth who were radicalized by the Al Shabaab in Somalia have returned home, hoping to change their lives for the better.

Alshabaab, a jihadist terrorist group based in East Africa, has in the past launched attacks on Kenyan soil Killing innocent lives and leaving many other people injured.
