Eldoret High Court has postponed for the fourth time the murder trial of athlete Agnes Tirop after Ibrahim Rotich, prime suspect in her murder failed to turn up in court.

Justice Robert Wananda who was ready to commence the trial this morning directed Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers handling the case to speedily produce Rotich for the trial to continue.

However, the DCI team requested the court to grant them two more weeks to locate the suspect.

Rotich is out on a cash bail of Ksh.500,000 which was given by the court two years ago following his second bond application, after his lawyer Ngigi Mbugua had convinced the court that his client was not a flight risk.

Rotich is ssuspected to have killed Tirop on October 12, 2021 at a rural estate in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet county.
