46 African countries including Kenya launch Climate Change initiative

Climate Justice Torch is an initiative that seeks to mobilize frontline Communities affected by the Climate Crisis to ensure they influence decisions on climate change using accurate, relevant and legitimate information by going down to the affected individuals who can speak for themselves on the reality of the prevailing situations.

Climate Justice Torch also seeks to call on Governments of developed and developing countries to Scale up efforts to ensure that young people have access to adequate and appropriate technologies that enhance their adaptive capacity and build their resilience.

The initiative also looks forward to African countries speak in one voice to get saved from The climate change menace by the continents which produce high Greenhouse gases into the Atmosphere.

The launch that took place at the Ministry of Energy and Environment in Libreville-Gabon was presided over by Gabonese minister of Forests, oceans, Environment and Climate Change Lee White who gave assurance of Gabonese Government determination to join hands with other African Countries to see that African citizens agony as a result of Climate change effects are looked into.

The "One Africa, One Voice" Climate Justice Torch Launch was preceded with peaceful Climate change walk that began at the Gabonese Municipality, traversed Libreville town and ended at the ministry of climate change.

The walk and the launch of climate justice Torch comes one day to African Climate Week where African continent leaders are expected to convene, deliberate and agree on the issues they will present before the 27th Conference of parties(COP 27,) in Egypt November 2022.
