2 killed, several injured in Githunguri morning accident

Two people died in an early morning accident involving a 14-sitter matatu and a lorry at Ngemwa, in Githunguri, Kiambu county.

Several people were also injured in the Tuesday morning crash involving a matatu ferrying passengers from Githunguri to Nairobi.

Kiambu OCPD William Barslip confirmed the accident saying the lorry’s brakes failed moments before ramming into the matatu.

Those injured were rushed to Kiambu Referral Hospital and discharged after receiving treatment.
