18-year-old defilement suspect hospitalized after mob attack in Homa Bay

According to County Police Commander Hassan Barua, the suspect abducted the girl from her home while her mother was seeking medical treatment at Homabay Hospital, and was subjected to mob justice by enraged members of the public before police arrived.

“This young man went to the home of a mother who was admitted at Homa Bay Hospital. He abducted this young lady and took her to his residence near Shauri area. He defiled her and members of the public got information yesterday,” he said.

Despite admitting that a crime had been committed, the commander chastised the public for attempting to enforce the law themselves.

Meanwhile, the suspect has been released from the hospital and will remain under police surveillance while awaiting arraignment.
