16 members of dreaded 'Confirm Gang' nabbed in Nakuru, minors among them

Police in Nakuru on Monday night arrested at least 16 members of the dreaded 'Confirm Gang', following a tip-off from members of the public.

The 16 were found in a woman's house as they planned to commit crime within Nakuru West Sub-county. Their host identified as Salome Nafula was arrested alongside the gang members.

What is even more shocking is that some of the gang members arrested are as young as 12 years old, with the oldest being 34. 

The arrested suspects include Omar Kipkoech Juma (24) who was found armed with a black toy pistol  and one phonesuspected to be stolen property, Tom Shikaya Osoho (18) who was armed with a silver pistol, Anthony Kaisa (18) armed with a kitchen knife, Walter Otieno Awasi (18) who was armed with a knife, Dominic Kibet Bera (19) armed with a kitchen knife, S A (16) armed with a kitchen knife and Ismael Ndiema Bera (18) armed with a Somali sword.

Others were M A(16), D M (15), F K (14), F N (12), David Opiyo Rege (24) in possession of one phone suspected to be stolen property, C O (14) in possession of one phone, Hillary Otieno Otieno(18) in possession of one phone suspected to be stolen property, Vincent Akelo Otieno (22) and Elizabeth Maresa Nanzala (34).

The suspects were also found with 300 grams, 33 rolls of bhang and two improvised bhang rolling flasks.

The suspects were taken into custody and will be charged with the offences of preparation to commit a felony, being in possession of offensive weapons and being in possession of narcotic drugs.

Police confiscated the items as exhibits. The suspects will be arraigned in court on Tuesday even as police seek more time to conduct further investigations.
