Fourteen drivers are in custody at Thika Police Station for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol Friday night on the Thika-Nairobi superhighway.
The drivers were caught by NTSA officers for driving under the influence of alcohol and for speeding.
NTSA manager, John Parteroi, said they were able to intercept 14 drunk drivers and a number of vehicles which did not have proper licensing and they will be arraigned in court on Monday.
“Most of the drivers were driving while drunk and at a high speed. One of the drivers was spotted drink driving a PSV,” said Mr Parterio
“We would like to urge all drivers to be vigilant and be careful on the road and not to drink and drive,” said the NTSA manager.
