Uganda enters Guinness World Record books with largest ever ‘rolex’

Uganda enters Guinness World Record books with largest ever ‘rolex’

The rolex is a popular Ugandan street delicacy that has gained interest worldwide, amassing quite the bit of traction for the Yoweri Museveni-led nation.

It consists of a fried egg and veggies all rolled inside a chapati.

But, just how large would one need to make the rolex for it to make it into the world history books, you ask?

Well, as it turns out, a whopping 204.6kg!

Uganda has become the newest entrant into the Guinness World Records (GWR) book after making the massive rolex.

In a video shared by GWR on Tuesday, a group of men are seen making dough mixing water with flour, salt and cooking oil then spread it on a large tray and roll it out proportionally to the tray forming the large chapati.

A team of women then starts chopping the ingredients among them green pepper, carrots, cabbages, tomatoes and onions then dip them in a large bucket filled with eggs.

After mixing, they then heat it on a hot pan and place it on top of the large chapati once it is ready. They add loads of cheese and meat toppings and then roll it over and wrap it.

The post has since sparked reactions from tweeps, most of them using humor while lauding Uganda for the record.

"This should be at least three records. Largest chapati, largest fried egg and largest rolex," commented Andruda.

"Just wondering how difficult it must have been to get all the equipment and labour...if it gets me in the GWR, then it's well worth it, Congratulations," posted Ayebare Denis.

"Wow impressive and looks delicious, this should become a thing," said Tayebwa Janet.
