"I'm not a mad man, I scream for fun!" Lunatic Wazimu speaks out on public screaming antics

Lunatic Wazimu, born Ian Asinya, has become a rather eerie Tiktok sensation who first went viral earlier this year after recording himself yelling out loud at the Central Police Station.

The 23-year old, says that, at that time, he simply strolled into the Police Station's compound and, unprovoked, let out a loud, frightening scream while at the same time recording it on his phone.

But things quickly took a turn when incensed cops rushed over to him, apprehended him, briefly hauled him into the cells and deleted the video.

The eccentric 'comedian' says that, shortly after, cops released him without charge and reprimanded him for being a nuisance.

"I was able to retrieve the deleted video and uploaded it on Tiktok. Next thing I knew, the video was going viral, gathering thousands of 'LIKES' and reactions across the Country. Even Mike Sonko posted it on his page and that's how I became popular," he tells Citizen Digital.

The delivery guy, who says he's been in the delivery business for a year now, says that, battered by life and unable to find gainful employment, he resorted to letting out loud public screams as a way to let out his frustrations and also as a call for help - from the powers-that-be.

"After that I went to State House, Gate B. I stopped right there, took out my phone and started recording myself asking President Uhuru Kenyatta to help me set up a sweet potatoes business. While I was still recording, I saw the gates slowly slide open and two officers approached me. Again, I was quickly apprehended and made to sit on the State House lawn as they determined what to do with me," Lunatic Wazimu says.

The Tiktoker, who now commands close to 250,000 followers on Tiktok, says that, while he's aggravated many a police officers while in their line of duty, many have actually become his good friends and few harass him even after he records himself teasing them to arrest him.

The bald-headed content creator also revealed that it is at President-elect William Ruto's home where he got his biggest scare but things quickly eased when the police learned of who he really was.

"While the 'State House' video was still trending, I visited William Ruto's home in Karen and there, I recorded myself screaming again right in front of his gate, manned by armed guards. Shortly after, they walked over to me, muscled me to the ground, called the cops at Karen Police station and I was again thrown into the cells, from where I kept up the yelling and screaming until I was eventually released without charge. " he says.

Lunatic Wazimu also revealed that, while his parents are worried of his safety due to his public antics, they are nevertheless not surprised of his hanky-panky given that he's been the same since birth.

"A mother is a mother. A true mother knows her child in and out. My Mom knows me since birth, my screaming antics don't surprise her at all. While she has asked me to be careful, she's not at all bothered by what I do. She knows her son and what he's capable of, " he says.

The prolific public disturbance ambassador also shot down claims of being actually mentally ill saying that, even though his neighbours have called him 'mwendawazimu' for almost ten years now, he remains very sane and that the screaming antics are random intuitive acts that pop up in his head at any time.
