South African rapper and actress Nadia Nakai has mourned her boyfriend rapper Kiernan Forbes (AKA) just a day after he was buried in Johannesburg.

In an emotional post on social media, Nadia - who is well known for her role in the Young, Famous & African series - cried that her life will not be the same again after AKA was brutally murdered while leaving a restaurant in Durban, South Africa.

Sharing photos and videos showing the many moments they spent together, Nadia added that she expected to be with AKA forever, but his life was cut short.

“My Heart is shattered, this is not what our future was meant to look like. I can’t believe I said my final goodbye to you yesterday. I’ll never see you again for the rest of my lifetime? You loved me loud and proud, thank you baby. Protected me, Prayed for me, inspired me,” she penned.

The actress went on to add: “I find it hard to breathe let alone find the words to explain how much I love you. I’m really going to miss all the special moments we’ve had. This really hurts! I can’t come to terms with the fact that I’ll never hear you say you love me, I’ll never hear your laugh. We had plans. There is no pain bigger than the pain of losing you. I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with you, I realise you’re the one who spent the rest of your life with me.”

The sorrowful Nadia said she doesn’t know how she is “going to do, going on with my life without you, I just can’t.”

AKA was a popular rapper in South Africa, boasting of three solo albums to his name.

He was shot dead alongside his longtime friend Tebello "Tibz" Motsoane. Police in South Africa say the assassination was carried out by a paid hitman.

In CCTV footage released, a man wearing a white sweater and cap is seen crossing the road and approaching the rapper and his friend as they leave the restaurant.

The killer then unleashes two bullets into AKA’s head, killing him instantly.

"From what we know and have seen, it was a hit. AKA was assassinated in broad daylight," said Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula.

South African police are yet to make arrests in connection with the rapper’s murder.
