Rapper Quavo hints at the end of Migos in new song
American rapper Quavo has now hinted at the
end of popular rap group Migos after one of its members – Takeoff – was shot dead in November last year.
The 30-year-old made the revelation in a
tribute song to Takeoff titled 'Greatness' released on February 23, 2023, eliciting shocking
reactions from fans.
“So do not ask about Migos, T is gone, we
gone, young n****s... it cannot back (damn)," he raps in the song.
Migos fans had expected that Quavo and
Offset, the group’s remaining members, would do a tribute song to Takeoff together,
but this was not to be. Further, 'Greatness' is Quavo's second solo tribute to Takeoff after 'Without You' which he dropped in January this year.
The group was, however, rumoured to have
split even before the death of Takeoff, who had formed another group with Quavo
called ‘Unc & Phew,’ and together they released an album titled ‘Only Built
for Infinity Links.’
Quavo and Offset are said to not have been on
good terms even then, and news of them fighting backstage at the Grammy Awards
two weeks ago only served to prove that no love was truly lost between them.
Not much is known about the genesis of their
beef but music critics in the U.S claimed that Quavo, in a song titled ‘Messy’,
sang about his ex-girlfriend Saweetie allegedly cheating on him with Offset.
