Prophet Kanyaris wifes baby shower goes down in US

Gospel songstress Betty Bayo, who is pregnant with her second child with husband, controversial ‘Prophet’ Victor Kanyari, celebrated her baby shower with friends in style.

The baby shower, which was held on Sunday, went down at the Well of Worship Centre in Massachusetts.

The baby shower poster in blue read: “Let us support our sister, daughter, friend and favourite gospel artiste.” Adding: “God bless you and enlarge your territory as you plan to come. Everyone is invited.”

The 11^th hour singer is currently on an eight state tour in America.

“Yes, Betty is here for a concert. I’m her host and she has been here for two months now where I have organized for her concerts in more than eight states,” her host in the United States, Mary Karugia told Word Is.

“The Boston concert is the last one. She has been in Kansas, Alabama, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Arizona, Seattle and now back to Boston for her last event before she goes back home.”

The singer allegedly separated with her husband, ‘Prophet’ Kanyari last year after he was exposed for performing dubious miracles.

Pictures of Bayo holding an unidentified man trended online as her husband’s scandal went viral.

However, Bayo denied the rumours saying; “How can people be so malicious?”

“When did taking photos with a man become an affair? I am hurting after the recent events and this issue of alleged infidelity is like rubbing salt into a wound,” she said.

“If there were any photos of infidelity, wouldn’t the pictures be online already? I have never cheated and I will never cheat on any man I am married to.”

Kanyari had nothing bad to say about his wife and shared that they are apart but in good terms as a family and he still had “hopes one day that things will change.”

He also said that they are still good friends.

Bayo was born in Banana, Kiambu County but brought up in Ol Kalou, Nyandarua County before relocating to Kiambu town. She dropped out of school in Form Two for lack of school fees.

She worked as a house help in Kiambu earning Ksh70 a day, for two years before a family offered to pay her school fees. She got married to Victor Kanyari in a private wedding late 2011.

Her other songs include Experiment, Siyabonga, Busy Busy, Ti Mundu and Agocwo.
