Kenyan rap royalty King Kaka has swapped his mic for a knife
and apron — and no, this isn’t a rebrand into culinary influencing.
The artist and entrepreneur has officially launched ‘Let Him
Cook,’ a cooking show that’s as much about food as it is about culture,
stories, and challenging tired stereotypes about men and kitchens.
The launch event, hosted at Bio Food Products Ltd headquarters,
was a melting pot of media personalities, partners, and fans who got a sneak
peek of what the show will serve — and it’s not just chapati and beef stew.
Think of it as part cook-off, part talk show, part cultural archive.
‘Let Him Cook’ promises a fresh flavor every Monday, featuring
celebrity guests from Kenya’s entertainment, business, and creative scenes, all
united by one thing: their love of food.
“This is not just a cooking show,” said King Kaka. “It is a
space where culture, conversation, and creativity meet in the kitchen. We are
telling our stories through food, and I am excited to do that with brands that
value quality, health, and authenticity.”
The show is the result of a collaboration between King Kaka’s
Kaka Empire and Bio Food Products Ltd, with support from Highlands Drinks Ltd
and Ma Cuisine Ltd.
“Now more than ever, it matters who makes your food and how
it’s made,” said Joachim Westerveld, Group CEO of Bio Foods, Highlands, and Ma
Cuisine.
“We are proud to bring together brands that operate with the
highest safety and quality standards, ensuring every ingredient on ‘Let Him
Cook’ is trustworthy, healthy, and truly Kenyan.” He added, “We are proud to
partner with King Kaka on a show that celebrates real food and real stories.”
The launch concluded with a behind-the-scenes factory tour,
tastings, and the official signing of the partnership agreement — a moment that
crowned what is likely to become one of Kenya’s most talked-about shows.
“This partnership between Kaka Empire, Bio Foods Ltd,
Highlands Drinks Ltd, and Ma Cuisine Ltd represents a bold move in Kenya’s
branded content space,” said Dennis Njenga, Co-Founder and Head of Talent at
Kaka Empire.
“We’re proud to lead this collaboration, bringing authentic
stories, trusted products, and high-quality entertainment to audiences across
platforms.”
‘Let Him Cook’ will premiere to invited guests at an exclusive
watch party on Monday, May 19, 2025. For everyone else, the kitchen doors open
weekly every Monday at 8pm on King Kaka’s official YouTube channel.
