The individual, who has been going viral for the last 24 hours, started sharing several sentimental videos of himself cradling the newborn as gospel music plays in the background.
In one of the videos (he has shared at least five so far), Andanje is seen in a pensive mood, captioning the video, "Guys, this is my daughter. Her mother ran away four days after birth to a rich Nigerian man in Kileleshwa. Please pray for us."
In yet another one of the videos which has been quickly racking up thousands of views on Tiktok, the jilted man captions, "My daughter, let's pray to God, your mother ran away after birth but God will take us far."
Soon after the videos began gaining traction online, spreading quickly across various social media platforms, a woman, who is alleged to be the woman said to have ran away from her matrimonial home, made a response on her own Tiktok channel, dismissing the ex-lover for his sympathy-seeking actions, telling him to 'man up and take responsibility like other men'.
"What is going on here? Nini inaendelea? Mbona unanitag? You know I can report you to Tiktok? And they block your account? Huwezi nitag vile unataka. I have moved on with my life. You need to also move on with your life and accept the fact that I'm no longer in your life," she says, dismissively.
"Lea uyo mtoto. Wewe sio wa kwanza na hautakuwa wa mwisho kulea mtoto peke yako. Wababa wangapi hapa wanalea watoto hata mwenye sio wao? Am I of your class?"
The woman, whose Tiktok handle is @Agum.muga, continues to lecture her former flame telling him to find ways to raise the baby by himself.
"Do whatever you have to do. You're a man. At the end of the day, a man has to find solutions. Tafuta mtu akusaidie kulea huyo mtoto....respect yourself young man," she admonishes.
In a follow-up interview with local YouTubers, the dejected father said that he had stepped out to go send some work documents at a nearby cyber cafe when he was informed that his wife had fled.
He narrated: "We went to hospital and she gave birth successfully. We stayed without any drama from the first day to the third, and then, on the fourth day, I stepped out to go send some work documents at a nearby cyber cafe. While there, my phone kept on ringing, it was my neighbour asking why we had left such a young baby at home alone crying?"
"I then rushed home only to find the baby lying on the couch. I looked around. I couldn't find my wife. Looking closer, I realized she had carried her clothes too. I tried calling her she was offline. We tried severally and finally, we decided to call her friend who told me that my wife had run away to a Nigerian man in Kileleshwa."
The saga has captivated many Kenyans online with thousands offering their different takes on the unorthodox incident.
While some have commiserated with the heartbroken man, encouraging him to soldier on and raise his child solely, others have praised the young woman for her unconventional step, saying that it was time men also felt the pain of single parenthood.
Instagram user Anthony Njuki said, "Be strong Bro. Do what you have to do. A man will always be a man. Don't cry, don't sob over a deadbeat woman. Raise that child and let her know what her mother did to her. Men are tested in many ways but we remain unbreakable. Usitishwe na mtu!"
Another user, this time on X, said, "I don't see the problem. The woman went where the money was. What's the use of two broke parents? How will they raise the baby even if she came back? They're both jobless! This dude should get a job and get a life! Why should the girl suffer with him when she's found soft life elsewhere? Can't be me!"
As the tornado of varied comments continue flooding the internet, some people have questioned the entire saga with many claiming that the woman may not have been pregnant at all and that the couple is merely playing to the gallery.
While responding to the naysayers in a fresh video, the woman said, "For those saying I was not pregnant, well, you think you know me too well. Being pregnant is not news. I wouldn't go out there and tell everyone I'm pregnant. The pregnancy was not important to me. I didn't see the need of going up and about telling everyone I'm pregnant..."
