Kenyan Dancehall star Redsan makes rap debut with a new release 'Ukicatch we catch'

With his new release 'Uki Catch weh Catch,' Redsan, who has dominated Kenyan reggae and raga music for over two decades, has shifted to rap music.
The dancehall king revealed on Instagram on Wednesday that he plans to reset the Kenyan music scene with the launch of his new rap career.
“Resetting the industry,” wrote Redsan.
“Mad mad mad. Thank you my good people I’m feeling the love. Let’s drive this to one million views on my YouTube channel please. Only one can reshape this industry,” he added.
Several Kenyan musicians, including rappers Khaligraph and Naiboi, congratulated the dancehall king on the release of his new rap song.
“We missed you king! @redsanmusic, kwanza hizo moves so smooth. Lyrics kiboko yao “Uki Catch weh Catch”. Parental advisory. Lyrics may be memorable to your ears!” Naiboi wrote.
Redsan was also welcomed by Khaligraph, who is arguably one of Kenya's top rappers, who shared his new song on his Instagram page.
He hilariously added that he still remains the King of rap in Kenya.
“Ati Redsan pia ana rap sai? Nimenyamaza tu kidogo sasa mnataka kuchukua throne? Go check out this new banger @redsanmusic umetry my g lakini king bado ni ule ule,” said Khaligraph.
Musician Nameless said: “Badder than MOST.”
Redsan's most recent dancehall project, 'Body Good,' which was released on March 9, 2021, received 44,000 YouTube views.
