It’s Dr. Taylor Swift: Singer set to receive honorary doctorate from NYU

The award-winning pop powerhouse will also deliver a commencement address to NYU’s Class of 2022 at Yankee Stadium in New York City.
NYU president Andrew Hamilton and Board of Trustees chairman William Berkley announced on Monday that Swift, 32, shall be conferred the title Doctor of Fine Arts, honoris causa.
An 11-time Grammy Award-winner, Swift has been widely decorated for her narrative style of songwriting and is no-stranger to NYU lecture rooms.
Earlier this year, the university announced that it was launching a whole course covering the singer’s evolution as a creative music entrepreneur, the legacy of pop and country songwriters, discourses of youth and girlhood, and the politics of race in contemporary popular music.
With 9 albums under her belt, Swift is one of the best-selling artists of all time, having moved over 200 million records worldwide.
During last year’s ceremony, she became the first, and only, female artist to win the coveted Grammy Album Of The Year trophy thrice.
The 'Wildest Dreams' singer holds an Emmy Award, 34 American Music Awards (the most for any artist), as well as 25 Billboard Music Awards, the most for a woman.
Her 2014 album, 1989, is, quite notably, the most-awarded album in pop history.
