"He has embarrassed the entire political class": Kenyans react after American YouTuber MrBeast sinks boreholes in Kenya

A revelation by American Youtuber MrBeast, that he drilled 52 boreholes in Kenya to help local communities access clean water has sparked mixed reactions from netizens.

MrBeast shared a 10-minute video on his YouTube channel showing him actively participating in the drilling of the boreholes, which he said was done in some parts of Kenya among them Meru County.

In the video he also said he helped build and equip classrooms with computers and furniture and vowed to build a wooden bridge he came across.

The video quickly garnered traction worldwide, with many Kenyans now turning their ridicule to Kenyan authorities for being outshined by a foreigner.

One Kenyan said MrBeast 'has embarrassed the entire political class' from what he has done.

One Edgar Bwire said: "The fact that the American-based YouTuber MrBeast built all those wells without any publicity from the media should tell you a thing or two. Our political leaders walk with cameras launching toilets and already existing projects. If they are trying so much to show that they are working then they're not working. It's that simple!"

@MrRightKe added: "52 wells, A bridge, projectors, computers, Desks that's what MR Beast Singlehandedly did for Kenya, am sure he did more kushinda Kenye imefanywa na governors wote hii mwaka."

@Onorpik further said: "It's good the media and govt didn't get wind of what Mr Beast was doing in Kenya. Politicians would have demanded their cut, GOK officials would have hit them with permits and bribes to approve them. President Ruto would have demanded a Photo op and taken credit for inviting him."

@Ed_kemboi even feared the boreholes will be taxed: "Those schools plus Mr Beast will be surcharged levies by WARDA. Ni kama hamjui hii serikali. How dare he construct 100 boreholes bila za macho?"

While Kenyans were celebrating these acts of kindness, MrBeast said he was already getting trolled for uploading the video helping people, but added that he will continue doing what enjoys doing.

"I already know I’m gonna get cancelled because I uploaded a video helping people, and to be 100% clear, I don’t care. I’m always going to use my channel to help people and try to inspire my audience to do the same," he said.

MrBeast's YouTube channel has the highest number of subscribers in the world, which stands well over 207 million.
