'Call police', Akothee tells ex-employee accusing her of withholding salaries
Akothee acknowledged the most recent allegations, referring to herself as the celebrity who does not pay her employees' wages.
She then challenged the ex-employee, referred to only as Brenda, to report the injustice to the police.
“You will know I am the boss, na kizungu zao mbaya mbaya. The only rude celeb who eats employees’ salaries, now call labor police after serving tea, #Deliver&getpaidorgetlostAkotheesrule rules on TikTok,” wrote Akothee through her Instagram page Sunday 6.
Brenda had promised the moon during the interview, but did not deliver, according to Akothee.
“I invite you to come work at my place... can you work under pressure? Yes. Are you sure you know what you are coming to do? Yes madam, I will do over your expectations. Alafu sahii nyenyenye. You are serving tea we are drinking wine baby, let tea serve you and pay you, this is how we do after eating employees’ salaries,” Akotheee said
On Thursday, February 3, the former employe claimed that the singer withheld her two-month salary of Ksh. 60,000.
“I worked for you for two months, I delivered videos, Maasai Mara, Peptang Eldoret, Rue baby’s Miss Universe, Akothee Safaris promos, Peptang factory, and those interviews you did with kina Mwende Macharia. I was never paid for any of these, not even a single shilling. Ama hizo trips za ndege was the mode of payment?” Brenda said on Wednesday February 2 via BNN.
“Two years later you come shouting at me to give you your work, yes I deleted everything. You owe me Ksh. 60,000,” said Brenda.
Brenda was threatened with a lawsuit by Akothee, who stated that she would not allow anyone to smear her name.
“I still need my videos up until now, the ones you shot me from the airport and safari, I am still waiting for them. If not send me your email address I send you my lawyer’s number you deal with my lawyer. Once you deliver what you shot, my lawyer will pay you, without that I am taking you to court, siwezi kubali mtu yeyote kuharibu jina yangu for nothing,” Akothee noted.
The mother of five further addressed the accusations via her Instagram page, Friday, February 4, saying she only has one rule for her employees, deliver and get paid or get lost.
“They have no idea of what pressure means in Akothees life. It's only one rule, deliver and get paid or get lost. I am one person who doesn't take reasons or blame games,” she said.
