Baba, clad in a blue Azimio La Umoja cap and a matching button-up shirt, is seen dancing to the tune indoors, presumably ahead of a campaign tour as he later captured chanting ‘Fire’ to his supporters from atop his car.
“Nimekuja na Baba/ Raila Amolo odinga/ Ni mtoto wa Mathare/ Mtoto wa Tinga,” Bahati croons, “Ameshikana na Baba/ Tumekuja kutinga.”
The star-studded video also has cameos by, among others, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, Embakasi South MP Babu Owino, and his Suna East counterpart Junet Mohamed.
Bahati took to Instagram to share the new song with his followers on Monday, writing: “I told you this is historic, Took Hon Raila Amolo to the studio for the first time and we made the collabo of the year.”
“Now on Youtube, we premiere the official music video so jeshi ya Bahati na Jeshi ya baba subscribe and enjoy,” he added.
The video had fetched over 10,000 views within the first hour of its launch.
With the latest release, Raila now has two hits to his name, with the first being his debut through a cameo in Emmanuel Musindi’s ‘Leo ni Leo remix’.
Released on February 12, the remix saw Raila perform alongside the Luhya star in front of a troupe of backup dancers.
Initially dubbed 'Lelo ni Lelo' (Today is Today), the popular hit has been consistently featured in Odinga’s campaign rallies lately as he traverses the country to popularize his August presidential bid.
The new song could also join Odinga’s campaign playlist just as the ‘Vijana, fire!’ refrain itself, which he has said is his metaphor for telling the youth to cast their votes.
