American R&B star Kelis appears to have completely fallen in love with Kenya and fans are thrilled

American R&B star Kelis Rogers, known mononymously as Kelis, has continued to express her affection with Kenya - months after she first landed into the country and was spotted attempting to cross a busy street in the Nairobi CBD.

Kelis, known for smash hits such as 'Milkshake', first shared a video of herself in Kenya back in January and has, since then, toured various parts of the country as well as met with Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.

As part of her Kenyan itinerary, Kelis toured various wildlife conservations across the Rift Valley even stopping over at the famous 'View Point' to marvel at the beautiful gorges and greenery below.

Now, it appears that Kelis is not quite done with her Kenyan odyssey as she just recently shared a video of herself at the Konza City, along Mombasa Road where she expressed her delight at being at the upcoming technological centre.

"Kenya is not just animals and gorgeous scenery. Also what's here is technology. We're driving down Mombasa Road and I'm so excited... This is Konza, Kenya's Silicon Savannah!" Kelis says, excitedly.

"They're literally building a city in the middle of the Savannah. It's exactly what it sounds like. It's got all the things we need for the future and the next generations..."

The video includes carefully-edited graphics of Konza City before transitioning to Kelis who remarks, "It's innovation and life - the future happening here in Africa!"

She also captioned the video, "The future of Kenya is amazing!"

Many fans in the comment section were shocked to realize that Kelis was not just still in Kenya but that she was actively promoting the country's beauty and selling its potential to her millions of followers.

One fan wrote, "Honestly, I feel like our African governments need to set aside special budgets for you given what you have being doing for the continent. I have never seen an American celeb invest so much of their time and resources to showcase the beauty of Africa. You are doing a great job Kelis and we appreciate you for it."

Another one noted, "Hey! We officially propose Kelis to replace Naomi Campbell as Kenya's official tourism ambassador!"

Someone else, probably a non-African, wrote, "Once you visit Africa, you will never be the same again. Coming back to America, you will have a new set of eyes. I plan to go back to East Africa-Kenya. Spend time there, possibly relocate there. Such a spiritual awakening. Africa is truly "home"!"

Kelis' African sojourn has seen her travel to and stay in various countries including Rwanda, Tanzania, Zambia and Botswana.

When she isn’t busy being a travel buff, she is farming, cooking, and being a mommy. She has three children—Knight, 14, with ex-husband Nas, son Shepherd, 7, and daughter Galilee, 3.

Her youngest kids are with her late husband Mike Mora, who passed in 2022. He died from stomach cancer after a two-year battle.
