Akothee confirms break up with lover Nelly Oaks

Singer Esther Akoth, well known by her stage name Akothee, has broken up with her lover Nelly Oaks.

On Wednesday, speculations on the couple calling it quits emerged after they unfollowed each other on social media and deleted photos of each other from their timelines.

Akothee later on confirmed that she has parted ways with the man who was once her manager, and is now focused on her career and new found happiness.

Akothee says she will take on the new phase of her life like the lioness she is.

“I have walked out of other relationships with different ups & downs so this last one shouldn't be a shock or a surprise. It's just a personal decision, I need time to concentrate on my new Found happiness with less destruction, I need to work on myself and my career, I am not ready for any commitment, questions or answers to what transpired just didn't want to hurt anyone but sorry it is what it is,”Akothee wrote in a social media post.

The singer added that she shares a family relationship with Nelly, and wishes to keep the family respect.

She further quoted; “Courage is fear holding on a moment longer.”

Her announcement comes after she hinted on parting ways with Nelly on April 22.

Then, Akothee said she had been dumped, urging people not to take relationships seriously.

She added; "Do you remember when I told you I am taken? Well till death do us part just parked and left! I'm single again guys... the road to relationship is always under construction." 

Akothee and Nelly Oaks went public about their relationship last year.
