Kenya Power has
announced that the prepaid payment system has finally been resolved following a
recent disruption.
In a notice issued
on Tuesday, the power distributor notified Kenyans that the system was now
operational and that customers can now purchase their tokens through the M-Pesa
Paybill number 888880.
“Following a
recent system disruption that led to delays in the processing and delivery of
prepaid tokens, we are glad to inform you that the issue was resolved on
Monday,” said Kenya Power.
The State Corporation
further affirmed that the tokens purchased during the system downtime through M-Pesa
were processed on Monday evening.
“As of yesterday,
we had processed and sent out all electricity tokens purchased by respective
customers via MPESA,” added Kenya Power.
The power company lauded
its customers’ patience and extended apologies to those affected by the system
downtime.
The notice comes
after Kenya Power on Saturday announced a technical malfunction that had affected
both its Prepaid and Post-paid payment systems.
