The family said the burial programme was agreed after consultations between leaders and grieving relatives following the crash that occurred on February 28 in Chepkiep.
According to the schedule, a requiem mass will be held on Wednesday, March 4, at the Nairobi Baptist Church, giving leaders, friends and constituents an opportunity to pay their last respects in the capital.
A night vigil will then be held on Thursday, March 5, in line with Kipsigis traditions, as part of the cultural rites for the late legislator and others who died in the crash.
Narok Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu, who is also Ng’eno’s father-in-law, said the bodies of Ng’eno and Wycliffe Kiprotich Rono will spend the night at his home, noting they were married under Kipsigis customary rites.
He added that the remaining four bodies will also be brought to Ng’eno’s home, in line with family wishes and Kipsigis customs, as they were unmarried at the time of death.
On Friday, March 6, a joint burial service will be held at Emurua Dikirr Primary School, where thousands are expected to attend. The bodies will later be taken to their respective homes for separate burials later the same day.
