Samples taken from Eregi Girls High School
students for testing at the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) now show
that there are no traces of any disease whatsoever affecting them.
This is according to Kakamega County
Health CEC Bernard Wasonga, who said the results received from KEMRI were for 44 out of 106 students
who were admitted in various hospitals across the county.
Mr. Wasonga said the 44 students have
since been allowed to go back to school and that the remaining 62 are still
being attended to, further urging parents to dispel any fears they had of
their children being ill.
“Wote
wameshughulikiwa vilivyo kimatibabu, tukachukua sampuli tukapeleka KEMRI
kuchunguza ni nini haswa ilikuwa inaleta hii maumivu,” said the CEC.
“Kufikia
infection yoyote.”
He added: “Wasichana hao sasa tumewapatia
The school board on Thursday evening held a
meeting to establish the well-being of students who had already been picked up
by their parents and taken home for treatment and figure out a way to bring
back.
