Chandarana Foodplus opens 24th store
The branch is the 13th for the retailer in Nairobi with 11 others spread across the country including Kisumu, Kakamega, Eldoret, Nanyuki, Mombasa, Diani, Nakuru and Naivasha.
The latest opening which the retailer anchors on increasing convenience to its customers keeps up with expansion plans by its peers in the retail sub-sector including Carrefour, Naivas and Quickmart.
While the latter pair are battling to be on top of the retail food chain in Kenya with over 100 branches combined currently, Chandarana says it will base its future expansion plans on prevailing customer needs.
“We analyse each of these individually and choose what works best for us and for our customers. So I would say we are always open and will continue to invest in viable locations in the country. We also invest a lot in strengthening our supply chains to stay ahead of the curve and not get caught up with product deficits,” said Chandarana Foodplus Marketing Manager Moses Njoroge.
He added: “We are customer-oriented and learn a lot from them. That is why we are always looking for innovative ways to make shopping convenient for our customers both in-store and online. We were among the first to introduce online shopping and we are always improving with other technologies.”
Chandarana is a family run retail store whose operations began in 1959 with a branch in Nairobi’s Parklands.
