Zetech University has been officially admitted into the Association of African Universities (AAU), joining a continental network of more than 360 higher education institutions across Africa in a move that strengthens its academic and research profile.

The admission places the university within one of Africa’s leading higher education bodies, which promotes collaboration among universities, advances research, and shapes policy on tertiary education across the continent.

Zetech University Vice Chancellor Prof. Njenga Munene said the membership will open opportunities for academic partnerships, research collaboration, faculty and student exchanges, and greater alignment of the university’s programmes with continental higher education frameworks.

“Our admission into the Association of African Universities brings us into a dynamic community of universities, research institutions, policymakers, and development partners across the continent,” he said.

Founded in 1967 and headquartered in Accra, Association of African Universities serves as a key platform for advancing higher education standards and institutional cooperation in Africa.

AAU Secretary General Prof. Olusola Bandele Oyewole said Zetech’s admission aligns with the institution’s efforts to expand its regional footprint while contributing to Africa’s development agenda through research, innovation, and skills development.

The membership is expected to bolster Zetech University’s participation in continental programmes focused on sustainable development, digital transformation, and research innovation.
