Young Beach Handball champions mark International Youth Day

As the world marks International Youth Day, Kenya’s Beach Handball fraternity is celebrating a vibrant new generation of young athletes whose determination and talent have earned them a spot at the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal.

This historic milestone underscores the transformative power of Beach Handball. Beyond international competition, the sport is equipping these young players with the discipline, confidence, teamwork, and resilience required to become leaders both on and off the court.

Caroline Nyadiero, Chairperson of the Beach Handball Commission under the Kenya Handball Federation, emphasized that their success should spark greater national investment in youth athletics.

“Our young people are not waiting for the future—they are already creating it. Every grain of sand beneath their feet represents a dream, every training session builds courage, and every opportunity we give them brings Kenya closer to a brighter tomorrow.

“Let us believe in our youth, invest in their talent and give them the platform to turn their dreams into a legacy,” said Nyadiero.

She also reminded the young squad that qualifying is only the first step toward a much larger responsibility.

“To our young champions, carry Kenya in your hearts, play with courage and never underestimate the power of your preparation. The world stage is waiting for you. Go there not only to compete, but to inspire the generation coming behind you.”
