Police identified the woman as Rose Nyakundi, whose husband, John Nyakundi Okoko, 45, was killed on Sunday night.
According to police, Nyakundi is suspected of conspiring with her 24-year-old son and another 36-year-old man from the village to kill Okoko while he was asleep.
The victim was allegedly struck with a blunt object inside his house.
Police say that after the killing, Okoko's body was washed in the bathroom and his clothes changed before it was moved about one kilometre from the home and dumped in a thicket.
Nyakundi later reported the matter at Ndiru Police Station, claiming her husband had left home to meet someone who was to give him rice plants for feeding his livestock.
She reportedly told police that her husband had been killed and his body dumped in a thicket before he could return home.
Officers accompanied her to the scene before proceeding to the couple's home, where they allegedly discovered blood stains on the matrimonial bed and a bedroom wall.
Rangwe Sub-county Police Commander Magdalene Chebet said the woman was questioned over the incident and allegedly admitted to participating in her husband's killing.
Police have, however, yet to establish the motive behind the killing, with Chebet saying investigations are ongoing.
The three suspects are being held at Ndiru Police Station pending arraignment.
