Woman recovering after alleged domestic attack in Rongo, Migori County

The victim, Sharon Eunice, who sustained multiple injuries, alleges that her husband attacked her on July 6 while she was doing household chores. She claims he poured a chemical believed to be acid on her before slashing her with a panga, allegedly over a disagreement dating back to 2022.

Sharon says neighbours responded to her screams and rushed her to hospital. She further alleges she has previously reported repeated assaults by her husband, but the abuse continued.

She is now appealing for justice and urging authorities to ensure the suspect is arrested.

Rongo Sub-County Police Commander Salim Fundi confirmed the incident, saying investigations are underway and officers are pursuing the suspect, who remains at large.
