Technology venture WildMango has announced a partnership with research company OpenAI to expand access to Artificial Intelligence technologies across Africa.

Through the collaboration, WildMango will support the distribution, integration, and localisation of OpenAI’s products and services which include working with enterprises, startups, and institutions to deploy AI-driven tools that enhance productivity, decision-making, and service delivery.

WildMango will use the move to enable businesses, institutions, and developers to adopt and scale AI solutions tailored to their needs.

"This partnership will support democratizing access to advanced AI capabilities, accelerating innovation, and unlocking new economic opportunities across African markets," read the statement in part.

“Our partnership with OpenAI positions Africa at the forefront of the global AI transformation. We are striving to make sure Africa is not left behind,” added WildMango Co-Founder Serah Katusya.

“We are not just expanding access; our ambition is to shape how AI is deployed and used in African contexts. This is about ensuring that the continent participates fully in the future, underpinned by Artificial intelligence.”

Sr. Partner Enablement Manager at OpenAI, Ben Tyson, said that the partnership will allow them to significantly expand their capabilities in Africa.

He said that WildMango's broad understanding of the African market gave OpenAI confidence in the success of the partnership.

“OpenAI recognizes that implementing new technology requires a specialized skill set and a clear understanding of both the power of technology and the way businesses operate. We’re excited to join forces with WildMango to engage and empower this ecosystem, and to ensure AI delivers lasting value for the continent," he said.

The partnership comes amid a rise in demand for AI solutions across Africa, prompted by the growth of digital infrastructure and public-sector transformation initiatives.

WildMango is one of OpenAI’s first Small and medium-sized businesses (SMB) partners on the continent.
