Wife of Changamwe MP Omar Mwinyi dies

Rukiya Khatib, the wife of Changamwe Member of Parliament Omar Mwinyi has passed away.

Rukiya is said to have suddenly fallen ill on Monday night and was taken to Pandya hospital for treatment, where she was overwhelmed and died.

Her body has been taken to her home in Portreitz, where the family is preparing to lay her to rest today. 

According to the MP's personal assistant, Ibrahim Kilai, Rukiya will be buried in the Mwingo area after the 1.00 pm prayer.

Leaders have continued to mourn Rukiya. 

The Orange Democratic Party (ODM) on Tuesday morning penned a condolence message to Mwinyi stating; “We commiserate with you and your family at this very difficult moment of grief and pray to Allah SWT to grant you peace during this trying times.”
