The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has forecast continued rainfall in parts of the Central Highlands, Western Kenya and the Coastal region during the week of April 7–13, 2026.

In its weekly outlook, KMD said showers are also expected in parts of the South Rift Valley, the South-eastern lowlands and North-eastern Kenya as the long rains season continues.

The department warned that rainfall could disrupt transport and day-to-day activities in areas prone to flooding and waterlogging, and urged the public to follow official updates.

KMD also forecast hot daytime conditions, with temperatures rising above 30°C in parts of the Coast, South-eastern lowlands, North-eastern and North-western Kenya.

At the same time, it said cool nights, with temperatures dropping below 10°C, are likely in parts of the Central Highlands, the Central Rift Valley and areas near Mt Kilimanjaro.
