His appointment is among several changes outlined in Gazette Notice No. 16170, published in the Kenya Gazette on October 9, 2026, by the Registrar of Political Parties.
According to the notice, Ojiambo will deputise Glen Karani, who has been named the party's National Youth League Chairperson.
The proposed changes place Ojiambo within the party's national youth leadership structure, which is responsible for coordinating youth participation and mobilisation within the political outfit.
The restructuring also sees John Muchiri Nyamu named National Chairperson, with George Omollo Ngasi taking the position of First Deputy National Chairperson in charge of strategy and resource mobilisation.
Graham Katana has been named Second Deputy National Chairperson responsible for programmes, while Salim Ali Mwadumbo takes the position of Third Deputy National Chairperson overseeing elections and political outreach.
The party has also named Ruth Suuta Moonka as Second Deputy Party Leader in charge of programmes and Anthony Manyara as Fourth Deputy Party Leader responsible for elections and political outreach.
However, the positions of Party Leader, First Deputy Party Leader and Third Deputy Party Leader remain vacant.
Onchari Oyieyo has been listed as Secretary General, supported by Michael Bramwel Ochieng, Tony Musyoka Timothy and Laura Mwende as deputy secretaries-general.
Nancy Muthami has been named National Treasurer, while Sammy Kyeva Musyimi, Titus Kipkurui Kirui and Assa Nyakundi have been listed in various deputy national organising secretary positions.
The changes also include Ruth Maingi Ndumi as National Deputy Women League Chairlady, Samson Waweru as Chairperson representing persons with disabilities and Omar Faruk Maalim as Executive Director in an ex-officio capacity.
The proposed leadership changes come as political parties reorganise their structures ahead of the 2027 elections, with youth participation expected to feature in their political activities.
The Registrar of Political Parties has invited individuals with objections or written submissions concerning the intended changes to present them within seven days of the notice's publication.
The notice, dated October 5, 2026, was issued pursuant to Section 20(1)(c) of the Political Parties Act.
