Wasike confident of victory ahead of Commonwealth title bout against Banda

The event, held under the Friday Fight Night Series by Kalakoda Promotions, once again cements Nairobi's position as a premier destination for elite professional boxing in East and Central Africa. Speaking ahead of the contest, Wasike said he is determined to prove why he is the East and Central Africa champion and has vowed to keep the title in Nairobi.

Under the new management of Kalakoda Promotions, Wasike says he has enjoyed the best training camp of his career leading into the fight.

“I have been listening to the coaches. We have focused on pace, power, more rounds in sparring, a tighter diet, and better recovery. I have not just trained hard; I have trained smart. I think my body is ready,” said Wasike.

Wasike heads into the bout following an impressive TKO victory over Jacob Maganga during the promotion's February edition of Friday Fight Night. Banda, meanwhile, arrives in Nairobi on the back of a four-fight winning streak, setting the stage for what promises to be an unforgettable contest.
