A new survey has recognized several women serving across Kenya’s governance and institutional framework for what it says are significant contributions to national development.

The report, based on research conducted by Kenya Track Survey, cites contributions in the executive, legislative, judicial and technical sectors, saying the leaders have played key roles in policy implementation, service delivery and socio-economic transformation.

Among those highlighted is Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano, whom the survey credits with efforts to reposition Kenya as a leading tourism destination while strengthening wildlife conservation and international partnerships.

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru was also recognised for what the survey described as a robust county development agenda in healthcare, infrastructure and agriculture, including investment facilitation and value-addition initiatives.

The report also cited Principal Secretaries Salome Muhia for policy coordination and programme implementation; Terry Mbaika for aviation and aerospace development, including infrastructure modernisation and safety; and Roseline Njogu for strengthening diaspora engagement through improved consular services and investment linkages.

In Parliament, the survey recognised Mombasa Woman Representative Zamzam Mohammed and Kakamega Woman Representative Elsie Muhanda for advocacy and development initiatives implemented through the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF).

Chief Justice Martha Koome was acknowledged for leading judicial reforms and efforts to strengthen access to justice and efficiency in the courts.

The report further cited First Lady Rachel Ruto for social development work in agriculture, food security and community empowerment.

Eng. Loise Kahiga, acting director of Irrigation Development Services at the National Irrigation Authority, was also recognised for technical leadership in irrigation infrastructure development and water resource management.

The survey said the women’s leadership continues to shape governance outcomes, institutional efficiency and socio-economic progress.
