Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua has called for greater focus on Kenya’s long-term development, saying the country must begin preparing for its ambitions beyond Vision 2030.

Speaking at an event at the Jamhuri Showground where over 700 graduants  were awarded various diplomas and certificates by Nairobi Women Hospital College,  Mutua said Kenya is already looking towards 2060, urging the younger generation of health professionals to position themselves for the country’s future.

"One of the key pillars of our nation is healthcare and the responsibility lies squarely on building and supporting the health professionals for achieving such ambitions will require a skilled workforce capable of driving innovation and development across key sectors, including healthcare," said Mutua.

He further challenged the graduates to take calculated risks and challenge the status quo as they navigate an increasingly competitive global marketplace.

The call comes as Kenya continues to implement its Vision 2030 development agenda while laying the groundwork for the country’s next phase of growth.
