Villagers kill son who stabbed mother over Ksh 500

The incident happened in Omogwa village, Kemera location, in Nyamira county.

Police identified the deceased as Wesley Ondieki. Ondieki stabbed his mother killing her, after she declined to give him money she had received from mourners who had come to condole with the family following the death of his father.

Ondieki also attacked his sister during the incident, leaving her with serious injuries, before fleeing.  

He would later be rounded up by irate villagers who beat him to death, and lynched his body.

The body of the mother was taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital, while charred remains of the son lie at Tombe Hospital morgue.

Kemera area chief asked youth to shun drugs, also condemning the mob for killing the suspect, instead of handing him over to the police.
