Vihiga United target FKF-PL promotion next season

Vihiga United head coach Mike Mururi is already planning for
next season for another swing at promotion into the FKF Premier League after a
dismal campaign in the second-tier.
Vihiga are eleventh on the National Super League (NSL)
standings with 44 points, a point behind SS Assad with one round left until the
end of the season.
Lack of the financial muscle to hold on to their best players
has seen forward Luke Namanda and Lawrence Luvanda move on to FKF-PL champions Tusker
FC while midfield star Stewart Omondi joined KCB.
Mururi added the club is not in a position to sign new talent
due to similar financial constraints.
“Currently we aren’t signing any new players because we
simply don’t have the money to do so. Talent is expensive to acquire and even
more so to keep and that’s why some of our best players have had to leave for
greener pastures,” Mururi said.
Vihiga were relegated to the NSL during the 2018/19 season
and host coastal side SS Assad in their final game of the season in Kakamega.
