On Friday, June 12, the nation remembers the 16 young lives lost in the devastating fire at Utumishi Girls Academy. These were daughters, students, friends, and future leaders whose dreams were cut short far too soon.

As we honour their lives, we now take a moment to recognize each of the young girls who lost their lives.

We remember Purity Naisula, a Form 4 Red student, whose bright future remains forever etched in the hearts of those who knew her.

We remember Imani Boit of Form 4 Blue, a young girl whose dreams and aspirations were cut tragically short.

We remember Mercy Precious, a Form 4 Red student, whose life touched family, friends, and classmates in special ways.

We remember Cecilia Wanjiku of Form 4 Blue, a cherished daughter and student whose memory will endure.

We remember Juliet Linah, a Form 4 Blue student, who will be deeply missed.

We remember Neema Wairimu of Form 4 Red, remembered today with love and profound sadness.

We fondly remember Getrude Muthoni, a Form 4 Purple student.

We remember Zuhura Rama of Form 4 Red, a young life gone too soon.

We fondly remember Jane Kimani, a Form 3 Red student.

We remember Sallystine Melly, a Grade 10 Green student, whose loss is felt deeply by family and friends.

We remember Precious Wanjeri of Grade 10 Green, a young girl whose future held endless possibilities.

We remember Nicole Michelle, a Grade 10 Green student, whose memory will live on in the hearts of many.

And we remember Abigael Chepngeno of Grade 10 Green, whose life left a lasting impact on those who knew her.

We remember these sixteen young lives with profound sadness and extend our deepest condolences to their families, friends, and teachers. May their memories continue to inspire those whose lives they touched, and may they rest in eternal peace.
