The event brought together the university’s diverse community in a colourful celebration of heritage, unity, and togetherness.
USIU-Africa continues to foster a truly multicultural environment where cultural exchange builds bridges and lifelong friendships.
This year’s celebration reflected the diversity through music, dance, fashion, and shared traditions that enrich the student experience.
Students from over 60 countries gathered to celebrate the Cultural Week.
The ceremony attracted ambassadors, high commissioners, and distinguished dignitaries from across Africa and beyond, highlighting the institution’s growing international recognition and influence.
Students representing countries including Kenya, Somalia, Nigeria, India, Rwanda, Tanzania, Pakistan, Cameroon, and many others showcased their heritage through traditional attire, music, and dance.
The Kenyan delegation stood out with symbolic ‘Nganyas’ representing the matatu culture.
Vice Chancellor Professor Mwenda Ntarangwi reaffirmed the institution’s vision, noting that USIU-Africa, not only takes students to the world through education but brings the world directly to them, describing the university as “unapologetically African.”
“Africa is the future and we want to be part of that future as we shape it and lead it. Africa is in need of the vibrancy that we see today, students who are confident, students who are proud of their cultures, and diligent of the work they do in their academics,” noted Prof. Ntarangwi.
