UDA’s Richard Yegon trounces KANU SG Salat in Bomet East MP race

Yegon was on Wednesday night declared winner after garnering 35,431 votes against Salat who collected 13,475 votes.

Another candidate in the race, Kalya John, got 987 votes.

Taking to social media shortly after the announcement, Yegon thanked Bomet Eat voters for entrusting him as their representative in the National Assembly.

He wrote on Facebook: “​​Thank you Lord for hearing our prayers. We have won and thank you the great people of Bomet East for having trust in me. I promise not to fail you!”

Salat, who is also the son of former first Bomet MP Isaac Salat, had as of Thursday morning not yet spoken out on the defeat.
