Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested two suspects in connection with the fatal stabbing of a shoe trader along Landhies Road in Nairobi.

The suspects, identified as Joseph Kimani Ndungu, alias Bajong, and Peter Kimani Githinji, alias Denoo, were traced to Kayole following investigations into the killing of Paul Mwangangi.

According to the DCI, Mwangangi's body was discovered on October 12, 2026, opposite the Muthurwa Market footbridge, with a fresh stab wound to the chest.

Detectives who responded to the incident found the trader lying face down at the scene.

Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) officers processed and documented the area, collecting evidence to assist in establishing the circumstances surrounding the killing.

During the exercise, detectives recovered a bloodstained Maasai sword suspected to have been used in the attack.

The weapon was secured as an exhibit and will undergo further forensic examination as investigations continue.

Mwangangi's body was moved to City Mortuary pending a postmortem examination.

The DCI said the two suspects have since been arraigned in court as detectives pursue further investigations into the incident.

The agency also conveyed its condolences to Mwangangi's family, friends and colleagues following his death.
