According to Mwea-west Sub-county police commander Rashid Ali, the motorcycle and car were being driven towards Makutano when the accident happened.
The police boss said that the motorcycle was driven by a 21-year-old man while a pillion passenger was a 20-year-old woman and on reaching Riandira SDA church, the motorcyclist immediately turned to the right trying to join an interchange. It was knocked down by the oncoming car.
As a result of the impact, the rider and his pillion passenger died on the spot. The vehicle’s driver and occupants sustained various injuries and were rushed to different hospitals by good samaritans.
“The motor vehicle and the motorcycle were extensively damaged and were towed to Sagana police station awaiting inspection,” the Police boss said.
Family and friends who arrived there immediately said the two were heading for celebrations in the Seventh Day church.
The bodies of the two were taken to Kerugoya hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
