Two killed, 7 injured in accident on Kisumu-Nairobi highway

The two male adults died at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) where they had been rushed for treatment after sustaining severe head injuries.
Seven other passengers are also admitted at the facility undergoing treatment.
According to Nyanza Regional Traffic Enforcement Officer (RTEO) Allan Mwangi, the accident occurred after one of the matatu's tyres got a tyre burst.
The admitted passengers also sustained head and chest injuries and are undergoing treatment at the same facility.
The traffic boss has urged road users to be vigilant and observe traffic road rules as the festive season approaches.
