Two held over suspected Kenya Power meter theft in Nairobi

Police have arrested two suspects and recovered several Kenya Power electricity meters in Lucky Summer, Nairobi, following an operation targeting the theft of power infrastructure.

The suspects were arrested on Tuesday by officers from Lucky Summer and Ruaraka police stations working with Kenya Power officials.

The operation followed intelligence on suspected stolen electricity meters being kept in the area.

Police also recovered other assorted items believed to have been stolen.

The two suspects are expected to appear in court as investigations continue into other reported cases involving the theft and handling of electricity infrastructure.

Kenya Power and security agencies have been conducting operations to tackle the theft of electricity equipment, which can interfere with power supply and pose safety risks to the public.
