Two suspects wanted in connection with the theft of motorcycles have been arrested in Uganda after allegedly killing a boda boda rider and stealing his motorcycle in Bujumba, Butula Constituency, Busia County, before fleeing across the border.

According to the Butula Constituency intelligence department, the two suspects, one of whom was already wanted by police, are residents of the area.

They allegedly assaulted a boda boda rider to death in Bujumba before fleeing with his motorcycle into Uganda.

The suspects are also alleged to have attacked another boda boda rider in Uganda, seriously injuring him before fleeing with his motorcycle.

Two of the three suspects were subsequently arrested by Ugandan authorities.

The motorcycle stolen in Kenya was recovered in Uganda, while efforts are ongoing to trace the motorcycle reportedly stolen from the Ugandan rider.

The two suspects are expected to face charges in Uganda and will be handed over to Kenyan authorities to face additional charges after completing the case against them in Uganda.
