Two suspects have been arrested in Mombasa after detectives recovered narcotics with an estimated street value of Ksh.2.19 million.

The operation was conducted jointly by detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) and officers from Mombasa County.

Police said officers raided a rented house in Kwa Hola Village, where they arrested 42-year-old Mwanaisha Abdalla Gona and his alleged accomplice, 37-year-old Nancy Njeri.

According to police, the house was being used as a drug distribution point operating within the residential area.

During the raid, detectives recovered 902 rolls of bhang weighing approximately 300 kilograms, wrapped in khaki paper and ready for distribution.

Officers also seized three kilograms of skunk packed in sachets, as well as 300 grammes of heroin, bringing the estimated street value of the narcotics to Ksh.2.19 million.

A digital weighing scale and clear polythene packaging materials were also recovered from the house.

The suspects were taken to Chaani Police Station and are being processed ahead of their arraignment in court.
