Tusker FC ascended to the top of the FKF Premier League after coasting to an easy 2-0 win over Wazito FC at the Ruaraka Grounds on Wednesday afternoon.

Victory took Tusker’s points tally for the season to 54, one ahead of Gor Mahia FC with 25 matches played.

The result piled more misery on Wazito who remain from second last on the standings having now lost four straight games to fall ten points away from top flight safety.

Fellow strugglers Vihiga Bullets were handed a 4-0 demolition by Kenya Police in an earlier league clash at the Sudi Stadium thanks to goals from Duke Abuya, Francis Kahata, Alvin Mangeni and Elvis Rupia.

A lightning-fast counter attack in the ninth minute led by Lawrence Luvanda ended with Erick Otieno netting the opener to give Tusker a dream start at Ruaraka.

The champions doubled their advantage a quarter of an hour later with Luvanda applying the simplest of finishing touches after some unselfish play from Daniel Sakari.

Wazito trailed 2-0 at halftime and looked always unlikely to provide a response to their opponent’s quality and creativity.

Captain Humphrey Mieno curled a fabulous cross in the 60th minute to find Shaphan, who tested but could not beat the goalkeeper.

Towards the dying minutes of the game, the visitors tried threatened but were repelled by the coach Robert Matano’s charges.
