Tusker FC set to honour top performers, squad overhaul to follow

The ceremony comes just days after the Brewers capped a successful campaign by winning the FKF Cup, with attention now shifting to a major squad rebuild ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The annual awards gala will recognise outstanding performances from players, technical staff and key contributors. Individual honours will include the Most Valuable Player (MVP), Goalkeeper, Defender, Midfielder and Striker of the Season, among other awards.

The event follows a memorable campaign for the Brewers, who ended the season by lifting the FKF Cup to secure silverware and qualify for continental football.

Tusker will also use the occasion to celebrate the team's achievements while setting the tone for the new season.

Striker Eric Kapaito is the leading candidate for the Striker of the Season award. He finished as the club's top scorer with seven goals in all competitions—six in the league and one in the FKF Cup. His consistent goalscoring form made him a key figure in Tusker's attack throughout the campaign.

Midfielder Ian Simiyu is the favourite for the Midfielder of the Season award after an outstanding campaign. He swept three individual honours in the 2025/26 FKF Cup—Most Valuable Player, Midfielder of the Tournament and Man of the Match in the final after scoring twice in Tusker's 2-1 victory over Kenya Police.

Simiyu finished the FKF Cup with three goals and two assists. He also scored five league goals, ending the season with eight goals in all competitions—one more than Kapaito.

Away from the awards, Tusker have already begun reshaping their squad ahead of next season and their return to the CAF Confederation Cup.

The club is expected to undertake a major overhaul, with reports indicating that up to 15 players could leave to make way for a similar number of new signings as Tusker strengthen the squad for domestic and continental competition.

Tusker have already completed their first signing of the transfer window, bringing in Nigerian striker Victor Chukwuemeka Mbaoma, the reigning top scorer in the Nigeria Premier Football League.

The Brewers have also secured the futures of defenders Tom Teka Omenda and Francis Oduor, who have both signed one-year contract extensions.
